Pretty decent effort,Need to catch up with other language specific plugins,Awfully slow in debugging and also slows down editing process over the time.
Variable parsing throws up lots of errors during debugging, makes debugging process most painful.

+ outline with overview of subroutines and used modules
+ syntax highlighting
+ immediate marking of errors / warnings
+ code assist
- not very much configurable
- opening a perl file creates five threads, closing it
kills three threads (perhaps some more leaks of that
kind?)
-> after excessive working for an hour or so java
is running with more than 300 (!) threads,
causing a markable slowdown

Good work.
(+) Syntax highlighting
(+) Errors and warning about syntax etc.
(-) I would like to use workbench variables to define the Perl include path.

Can't live without it. Only current drawback is slow performance of debugger but I know the author is working on that.

This is a pretty good module that I've been using for some time.
Being able to use perl along with the other great features of eclipse is awesome.

The RegExp plugin is excellent for testing regular expressions.
Good plugin for the small amount of Perl programming I do.

I maintain a lot of old, crufty and poorly formatted Perl code so being able to run perltidy from inside the IDE is great. Even on my decrepit Celeron-433 performance is pretty snappy. In fact I've become so dependent on this plugin that I couldn't move to Eclipse 3.0 until it was available.

Not a bad plugin but I'm having performance issues which make it unusable after a short period of usage. I'm using v0.3.0 with Eclipse v3.0 (GTK/Linux build) and when editing a small (~80 line) file the cursor can't keep up with my typing on a 2.4GHz P4. When initially loading the file performance seems to be ok but after a couple minutes of editting performance degrades horribly... Once the performance issue is fixed my rating will be much higher.

I've found this plugin incredibly useful for my perl programming. I downloaded Eclipse for Java/Tomcat development but got email from a Perl mailing list regarding it so gave it a try. Being able to use one IDE for both Perl and Java is just great. And not having to switch to a new terminal window to run perldoc is very nice.

Very comparable to some of the all-Perl commercial IDE's out there.
